Two Essential Particles: に and で
Particles are small words that follow nouns and tell you the grammatical role that noun plays in a sentence. Two of the most important — and most commonly confused — particles for beginners are に and で.
に (ni) — Destination, Target, and Point in Time
Core concept: に points to a fixed point — where something or someone exists, the destination something is heading toward, the target of an action, or a specific moment in time. Think of に as placing a pin on a map or a clock.
