Lesson 21 — Expressing Reason and Contrast

Part 1: Expressing Reason — ので and から

Both ので and から connect two clauses where the first is the reason or cause of the second. They translate as “because” or “so.”

Pattern: [Sentence 1 — reason] + ので / から + [Sentence 2 — result]

から — “because / so”

から attaches to both plain and polite forms.
